Merry Christmas from Splash Point Jazz

It's that time of year again, the Yuletide countdown has started – and we want to be the first to wish you a HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Take time off from writing those Christmas cards, and come on down to one of our Christmas Special gigs, nicely spread out across the month of December (with a new one at Hooe!) and presented here in (roughly) date order.

EASTBOURNE Weds 12th (BIG Gig)
Next up with a Christmas Special is Eastbourne SPJC at The Fishermen's Club, on Wednesday Dec 12th when we welcome the irrepressible Alan BarnesChristmas Carol, a suite of specially-written pieces plus readings from Dickens' iconic book, with suitably humorous additions from Alan!

This is an eight-piece band and just look at the line-up: Alan (sax/clarinet/bass clarinet), Robert Fowler (saxes/clarinet), Karen Sharp (saxes/clarinet), Bruce Adams (trumpet), Mark Nightingale (trombone), David Newton (keys), Simon Thorpe (bass), Clark Tracey (drums). You will appreciate that for this one special gig the ticket price has increased to £15, but worth every penny as it's a fabulous gig.

You can buy on the door on the night (assuming tickets are left, it's selling fast...) or in advance from Parking is completely free right outside the door, drinks are at club prices, and there will be mince pies and mulled wine available too. The Fishermen's Club is on Eastbourne's Royal Parade, BN22 7AA.

2019 Go forth…

There's great news too from us about the future direction of Splash Point Jazz clubs – we're excited to be able to tell you that ALL of our venues have renewed their contracts, so we're all fired up and set to sail into 2019. The Master Mariner in Brighton, Fishermen's Club in Eastbourne and the Bull Inn in Battle will all carry on without change. From January The View at Seaford moves from Sundays to the first Wednesday evening of each month, with a start time of 7pm, although the format remains the same. Deans Place and Bannatynes also carry on for 2019, and the New Year will herald a New Club in the shape of Eastbourne's Hydro Hotel, where Neal will be appearing monthly each second Wednesday from February with a guest musician. Wherever you live, we have a club near you!

All of us wish all of you a very happy Christmas and a fabulous New Year. We genuinely look forward to welcoming you to our jazz clubs, and hope to see you again very soon.

Keep supporting live jazz in Sussex!
